Employee interview: Anna-Marie Ebermann

 Employee interview: Anna-Marie Ebermann

Posted on 19 January 2023

"I am proud to work for an employer that actively supports environmental and social projects."

Name: Anna-Marie Ebermann
Position: Operations
Branch: WKK Germany

How did the application go?

I've been thinking about a career change for a few months. When I spoke to a friend about it, she told me that her employer (WKK GmbH) had a job advertised. I then sent in an application and was invited to an interview a few days later.

During the trial period, I unfortunately had to realize that the advertised position didn't suit me and I turned it down. I was pretty sad about that because the company made a great impression.

Two days later, I received a call that WKK had another position that might suit me. After a conversation with my current manager, I was accepted and just under a month later I had my first day at the new position.

What was your personal highlight in the first few weeks at WKK?

My new colleagues welcomed me openly and warmly. In my first week, I was able to get a taste of every department so that I could get to know my colleagues from other departments better.

WKK also organizes a weekend trip once a year, to which all employees and their partners are invited. This year, we flew to Prague in mid-January. It was a great opportunity to get to know colleagues from other countries, with whom I otherwise only communicate by phone or email.

WKK strives to act sustainably. Can you identify with that?

Definitively! I eat plant-based and am a very environmentally conscious and animal-friendly person. In my private life, I am actively involved in environmental protection and animal welfare. I am proud to work for an employer that actively supports environmental and social projects.

What was the most important thing you have learned at WKK so far?

Appreciate your colleagues and treat each other with respect. Because if you work as a team, you win as a team.

What do you appreciate about your employer?

I particularly appreciate the respectful interaction and team spirit. Here everyone helps everyone.

Furthermore, it was important for me personally to find a job where I can switch off after my working day & do not receive numerous calls or emails after work. I didn't want to start thinking about Monday on Sunday. Unlike most companies, where you "should" be available 24/7, there is a work-life balance here. There is also the possibility of using home office and flexitime.
