Push mount cable ties – Types, properties & use

Posted on 26 November 2021

Cable ties are available in a broad range of types and sizes. From stainless steel cable ties, coloured cable ties, heat resistant cable ties to cable ties made of Tefzel®. One of the lesser known types of cable tie are push mount cable ties. These cable ties are very handy for specific situations. Read more about them below!

What is a push mount cable tie?

Push mount cable ties function in the same way as regular cable ties do, with one important difference: these cable ties have an arrowhead attached to the head of the cable tie. Push mount cable ties are available in two versions:

Type 1 has an arrowhead attached to the head of the cable tie, and has two ‘wings’ between the arrowhead and the head of the cable tie. Type 2 also has an arrowhead, but does not have the wings that type 1 has.

How are push mount cable ties used?

Push mount cable ties are used to bundle and guide cables along a pre-drilled hole, on a metal rail or profile for example. The arrowhead can easily be pushed through the hole, after which the cable tie locks into place. Then, the cable tie can be used in the same way as regular cable ties.

Properties of push mount cable ties

Push mount cable ties are made of polyamide 6.6 and are resistant to temperatures of up to +85 °C. In addition, these cable ties are available in lengths ranging from 110 to 200 mm, and in width ranging from 2,5 to 4,8 mm. Finally, these cable ties are available in the colours white and black – the black version is UV resistant.
