Printable heat shrink tubing
Two types of heat shrink tubing in our range are printable. Upon request, we can provide these with a custom print, for example to simplify the identification of the shrink tubing and the object it is used on.
Types of printable heat shrink tubing
Two types of heat shrink tubing in our assortment are suitable for printing:
- WKK - H-2(Z) 2PF - Thin-wall heat shrink tubing - 2:1 - Printable - Operating temperature up to 125 °C
- WKK - H-2(Z) 3PF - Thin-wall heat shrink tubing - 3:1 - Printable - Operating temperature up to 125 °C
The only difference between these two types is the shrink ratio: the 2PF has a 2:1 shrink ratio, while the 3PF has a 3:1 ratio.
Why print on heat shrink tubing?
There are various reasons to print on heat shrink tubing. A common use is for identification — for instance, by adding a company logo. This not only aids in organization but also allows the tubing to serve as promotional material.
Properties of printable heat shrink tubing
Our H-2(Z) 2PF and 3PF heat shrink tubes share most of the same properties. Both are available in yellow and white, have a flat shape, and are only available on rolls.
They are UV-resistant but not halogen-free. They are flame-retardant according to VW-1 and self-extinguishing.
Made from crosslinked polyolefin, they offer an operating temperature range from -55 °C to +125 °C. The minimum shrink temperature is 100 °C.
The only difference is the shrink ratio:
The H-2(Z) 2PF has a 2:1 shrink ratio. This means the diameter after heating is half the original diameter. For example, a 3.2 mm diameter will shrink to 1.6 mm.
The H-2(Z) 3PF has a 3:1 shrink ratio. For example, a 4.8 mm diameter will shrink down to 1.6 mm.
