Sealing inserts
Sealing inserts provide a practical mounting solution for multiple separate cables. This prevents open spaces when connecting glands. WKK supplies metric sealing inserts from M12 to M40. These sealing inserts come from the German quality brand Jacob.
Properties
These sealing inserts are made of the plastic TPE TPS. They have a temperature range from -30°C to +100°C and an IP67 protection rating.
They all have a metric thread according to EN 60423.
Function and benefits
Sealing inserts ensure that cables are easily and neatly bundled and routed. They prevent open spaces where a cable passes through a hole, thus preventing dust, moisture, or unwanted influences from entering. This results in better protection for the cables (less friction against edges), a professional appearance, fewer chances of malfunctions due to damage or leakage, and easier management of multiple cables through one gland.
Applications
Sealing inserts are particularly suitable for industrial connection and installation environments where multiple cables need to be routed through a single mounting point. Examples include control cabinets, electrical distribution panels, machine housings, control panels, and other enclosures where cable entry needs to be neat, safe, and compact.
Dimensions
Our sealing inserts are available in sizes M12, M16, M20, M25, M32, and M40. They are available with 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 holes and in various hole diameters and diameters for the entire gland.
Installation and assembly
When assembling the cable gland, the component is screwed or fixed into the conduit or mounting opening (e.g., threaded opening in the housing), after which the cables are routed through the gland. Since our glands are available in metric sizes (M12-M40), they can be mounted in a corresponding threaded hole without additional adapters.
It is important to ensure proper sealing and avoid unnecessary tension or pinching of the cable(s) to prevent mechanical strain and the ingress of dust or moisture.
