Without these plugs, open holes in control cabinets or distribution panels would form direct entry points for contamination, which can lead to short circuits or corrosion of internal components.
Using blanking plugs provides several advantages:

Materials and technical properties
The durability of a blanking solution depends strongly on the material used. The WKK range includes blanking plugs made from polyamide PA6 GF30, a glass fiber reinforced plastic known for its mechanical strength and chemical resistance.
While rubber or metal variants exist on the market, polyamide offers the best balance between durability and ease of installation for most electrical applications.

Applications in practice
Blanking plugs are used wherever electrical wiring passes through enclosures or panels. They are especially important in installations designed with future expansion in mind.
For example, a distribution cabinet may be prepared with multiple openings, while only a portion is initially used. The remaining openings can be safely sealed using these plugs.
