Halogen free
Halogen free heat shrink tubing is different from heat shrink tubing containing halogen on a number of important points. When halogen free heat shrink tubing catches fire and burns, almost no poisonous gasses are released. In addition, halogen free heat shrink tubing barely generates smoke when burning.
For this reason, halogen free heat shrink tubing is mostly used in environments where poisonous gasses and/or smoke might cause permanent damage, such as areas where people or animals are present. Some gasses can also damage electronics, making halogen free heat shrink tubing useful in installations containing electronics.
