WKK Cares - our commitment to the world
Our way to give something back to the world
Support for environmental and social projects - local and worldwide
Under the name "WKK Cares" we have made it our mission to donate part of the profits we generate for charitable purposes. Interested in the WKK Recycle program? Click here to read more about it. You can also download our sustainability 2024 flyer here >.
Every year we support various projects in the following areas:
- Environment, sustainability & protection of species
- Education
- Health promotion
- Disaster relief
- Famine
- General humanitarian aid
The annual budget for WKK Cares is donated in full and is broken down as follows each year:
- 50% goes to a major project
- 50% is initially held back for acute cases. If, fortunately, no acute case (e.g. natural disasters) occurs, the rest will be donated to one or more major projects
In practice this mean that, for example, 50% would be donated to cleaning up the oceans of plastic. Should a disaster occur, such as the bushfires in Australia in 2019, part of the remaining 50%, e.g. 25%, will first be donated to aid organizations that provide aid on the ground. If there is still a balance left at the end of the financial year, it will either be donated to other projects or urgent aid purposes.
The decision which projects and humanitarian aid will be supported is made together by all employees of WKK.
In other words, WKK Cares is a kind of relief fund of WKK.
In the following, we would like to briefly present some of the projects we support - only together can we preserve our planet and make it a better place for all inhabitants, whether human or animal.

WKK Recycle Program
To make a contribution in the battle against environmental pollution and the shortage of plastics, we have introduced a recycling program at WKK. Plastics such as polyamide 6.6 are an elementary component and have become indispensable in many places in the modern world. Their special properties make them the preferred material for many products. The amount of plastic produced worldwide has increased from 1.5 million tons worldwide to 370 million tons in the past 70 years.
Manufacturers also notice the lack of raw materials for plastics and the reliance on companies on oil-producing countries and their pricing policies. In addition, the export of plastic waste is becoming difficult. One way to counter this is with the reusable cable ties that WKK offers. These can be an advantage in office environments or when bundling cables. Still, there are many situations where a regular cable tie is more useful, as the chances of it ever having to be cut are very slim.
To take matters into our own hands, we have introduced a recycling program at WKK. The aim is to collect used cable ties to create a recycling system these products.
To participate in the program, our customers can collect their used cable ties and send them to the nearest WKK facility. The cable ties can also be brought in personally. WKK collects the used cable ties and sends them to a partner for recycling. In this way, we contribute together.
