Brown heat shrink tubing
Heat shrink tubing is indispensable in many applications and is available in various designs, types, and colors. One of these colors is brown. Brown heat shrink tubing is ideal for marking cables and provides protection against external influences. In our range, you'll find different types of brown heat shrink tubing, all of which are thin-walled and available in various sizes.
Which types of brown shrink tubing are available?
We offer five types of brown heat shrink tubing, which differ in shrink ratio and properties:
- H-2(Z) – Thin-wall heat shrink tubing – 2:1
- H-2(3X) – Thin-wall heat shrink tubing – 3:1
- H-5(3X)-F – Thin-wall heat shrink tubing – 3:1
Each type is available in different sizes, so you'll always find a variant that suits your application.
Key features of brown heat shrink tubing
Thin-wall
All brown heat shrink tubing in our range is thin-walled, with a wall thickness of 0.4 to 0.8 millimeters before shrinking. Thin-wall heat shrink tubing is flexible, easy to apply, and ideal for applications where cables need to remain bendable.
Material
The brown heat shrink tubing in our range is made from crosslinked polyolefin, a material known for its strength and durability. The H-5(3X)-F type also has a built-in adhesive layer, which is added during production via co-extrusion. This adhesive layer provides additional sealing and water resistance, making it particularly useful in damp environments.
Shrink ratio
Brown heat shrink tubing comes in shrink ratios of 2:1 or 3:1. A 3:1 shrink ratio means the diameter shrinks to one-third of its original size when heated. For an optimal fit, choose a shrink tubing where the post-shrink diameter is just slightly smaller than the cable diameter. This ensures a strong and secure bond.
Applications of brown heat shrink tubing
Brown heat shrink tubing is often used to mark cables and cable bundles. By marking different cables with various colors, they can be quickly and easily identified. This is especially useful in complex installations where organization is important.
Additionally, brown shrink tubing can improve the visibility of cables. By covering black cables with brown shrink tubing, you can make them more visible in environments where color-coding or safety is a concern.
